AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults over 18 years of age
  • People who have had a certain type of heart attack (called STEMI) and are being sent for an urgent procedure to look at the heart's arteries
  • People whose heart artery is found to be completely or almost completely blocked by a blood clot during that procedure
  • People for whom the medical team has determined that a clot-removal procedure (using suction to clear the blockage) is clinically appropriate
  • People who are able to understand and agree to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • People for whom a procedure to open blocked heart arteries (known as percutaneous coronary intervention, or PCI) is not medically safe or appropriate
  • People who are in a state of severe cardiovascular collapse or shock at the time of the procedure
  • People with advanced, end-stage kidney failure
  • People who, due to a serious non-heart-related illness, are not expected to survive beyond one year
