Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of heart attack called an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), confirmed by heart tracing (ECG), symptoms, and a heart artery procedure.
- People who, after their heart artery procedure, are classified as a specific stage of heart instability (called "SCAI B") — meaning they have a fast heart rate and/or low blood pressure, but no signs that organs are being starved of blood (normal blood test results, normal circulation, clear thinking, and adequate urine output).
- People aged 18 years or older.
- People who are mentally able to understand and agree to take part, follow the study procedures, and follow medical guidance.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant.
- People who are unable to give informed consent to participate.
- People who show signs of fluid build-up in the lungs (pulmonary edema).
- People with a slow heart rate (fewer than 60 beats per minute).
- People with a specific abnormality on their heart tracing where the electrical signal between the upper and lower heart chambers is delayed beyond a certain threshold (PR interval greater than 240 milliseconds) (confirm with trial site).
- People with certain types of heart rhythm problems where the electrical signals between the upper and lower chambers of the heart are partially or fully blocked (second- or third-degree AV block).
- People with active asthma.
