  • People who have a mental or cognitive (thinking or memory-related) disorder that requires medication.
  • People who are using corticosteroids or any medications that contain corticosteroids (a type of steroid medication).
  • People whose baby has a known abnormality.
  • People who have other ongoing health conditions besides gestational diabetes (for example, high blood pressure, Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, or thyroid disorders).
  • People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher (a measure of body weight relative to height).
  • People who are discharged from hospital before the third day of the intervention.
