Who may be able to join
- Women aged 18 or older.
- People who have been diagnosed with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer, confirmed by laboratory testing.

Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have cancer that has spread to the lining around the brain or spinal cord, or who have cyst-like tumour lesions in the brain, confirmed by MRI or spinal fluid testing.
- People who have a significant build-up of fluid in body cavities (such as the abdomen, around the lungs, or around the heart) that is not being well controlled by treatments like drainage.
- People who have had whole-brain radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or brain surgery within 2 weeks before the first dose of the study treatment.
- People who have a known significant lung condition — such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or pneumonitis — that seriously affects breathing, or who have previously experienced a severe (grade 3 or higher) form of interstitial lung disease.
- People who have received full-dose blood-thinning medications or clot-dissolving drugs within 10 days before joining, or who have taken certain anti-inflammatory medications that affect platelet function.
- People who have previously been treated with trastuzumab deruxtecan (DS-8201a) or any similar antibody-drug combination that uses a topoisomerase 1 inhibitor derived from exatecan.
- People who have taken part in another drug clinical trial within 4 weeks before joining this trial.
- People who have been diagnosed with another cancer in the past five years, except for certain cancers considered cured, such as cervical carcinoma in situ, basal cell skin cancer, or squamous cell skin cancer.
