Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 20 and 79 years old whose heart is pumping less efficiently than normal (the heart pumps out 40% or less of its blood with each beat, as measured by an ultrasound of the heart), and who are able to give written agreement to take part in the study voluntarily.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose eye conditions are too severe to allow a clear photograph of the back of the eye to be taken.
- People who have widespread disease affecting the retina (the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye) that makes it too difficult to see the blood vessels there clearly.
- People who do not wish to give their written agreement to take part in the study.
- People who are pregnant.
