- People with serious heart conditions, such as unstable chest pain or severe heart failure
- People with serious liver or kidney disease
- People with nerve or muscle diseases that affect the muscles used for breathing
- People who have had surgery on their upper airway or chest within the past 3 months
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People who would be unable to complete the study's assessments due to cognitive difficulties or an inability to cooperate with testing
