Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have a weakened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy) where the heart is pumping at a moderate level (between 35% and 50% efficiency) and who also have at least one additional heart-related risk factor (confirm with trial site for which risk factors apply)

Who may not be able to join:
- People who are under 18 years old or aged 80 or over
- People who have unstable coronary artery disease (a serious condition where the blood supply to the heart is unpredictable or at immediate risk)
- People who have had a heart attack within the last 40 days
- People who have had a procedure to restore blood flow to the heart within the last 90 days
- People who have a blood clot inside their heart
- People who have an artificial (mechanical) heart valve
- People who already have an implanted automatic defibrillator device
- People whose life expectancy is less than one year
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People taking heart rhythm medications other than beta-blockers or amiodarone
