Who might be able to join this trial:
- People living with HIV who have missed a scheduled clinic appointment by more than 30 days and have not yet returned to care at the time of the sample being taken
- People living with HIV who have come back to care after a period of being away and not taking HIV treatment, and who do not have a recent viral load (a blood test that measures the amount of HIV in the body) on record
- People living with HIV whose last scheduled viral load test is 6 months overdue at the time of the sample being taken, regardless of whether they are currently in care
- People living with HIV whose most recent recorded viral load result was above 1,000 copies/ml at the time of the sample being taken, regardless of whether they are currently in care
- People who are willing to provide written consent to participate, in English, Nyanja, or Bemba
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to give consent or do not wish to take part in the study
- People who are not living with HIV
- People who are too unwell to participate at the time — for example, those who are unable to speak, are in significant discomfort, or require emergency medical attention
