Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 years or older
  • People who are currently experiencing flu-like symptoms or an acute respiratory infection, including at least 2 of the following for between 2 and 7 days: cough, sore throat, fever, sneezing, congestion, muscle aches, fatigue, wheezing, or shortness of breath
  • People who are willing to share their HIV status or be tested for HIV as part of the trial

  • People who are willing to wear a mask and provide a breath sample for the study

  • People who are willing to attend follow-up study visits for up to two weeks after joining the trial

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are unwilling to provide reference standard samples, such as nasopharyngeal (nose/throat) swabs
  • People whose symptoms have been present for more than 7 days
  • People who are unwilling or unable to give informed consent to participate
