Who may be able to join
- People between 21 and 80 years of age who have clinically significant loss of pleasure or interest (defined by a score of at least 20 on a specific rating scale called the SHAPS).
- People who have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5-TR).
Who may not be able to join

- People who meet diagnostic criteria for a substance use disorder within the past year.
- People who are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide, have had thoughts of suicide with intent or a plan, or have made a suicide attempt within the past year, or who are considered to be at significant risk of suicide during the study.
- People who have used any medications or drugs that could interfere with the study's expected results within a specific timeframe before participation (confirm with trial site for details).
- People who have a history of seizures.
- People who have a growth or mass inside the skull (confirm with trial site).
- People who have a pacemaker or any metal implants in the head or neck area.
- People who are pregnant.
- People with uncontrolled health conditions, including serious heart or lung disease, or severe alcohol or drug misuse within the past year.
- People who have any medical reason that would prevent them from safely undergoing non-invasive brain stimulation or MRI (brain scanning) procedures.
- People who have any other condition that, in the opinion of the study doctor, would prevent safe participation in the study.
