Who might be able to join this trial:

  • The child taking part must be between 7 and 11 years old
  • The child's parent or parents must be 18 years of age or older
  • The child must have been identified, through a clinical interview, as having chronic insomnia disorder — meaning sleep difficulties that happen at least 3 nights per week and have been ongoing for at least 3 months

Who may not be able to join:

  • Children who are currently receiving a talking therapy called CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for sleep or anxiety problems
  • Children who have been diagnosed with a medical sleep condition, such as sleep apnoea or restless legs syndrome
  • Children who have significant health conditions or neurodevelopmental conditions, such as an intellectual disability
  • Children who are currently taking psychiatric medications or medications to help with sleep
  • Children or families who are not able to read and write in Hebrew
  • Children who are sleeping an average of less than 6 hours per night at the start of the trial
