Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are female
- You have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome using the 2016 diagnostic criteria
- Your muscle pain has been rated higher than 5 out of 10 on a pain scale over the last month
- You are between 18 and 60 years old
- You do not have any other long-term or widespread pain conditions
- You do not have any other health condition that could affect how you feel pain (for example, diabetes)
- You do not have any neurological or psychiatric conditions that could affect your ability to take part in the study
- You have not had cancer in the last 5 years
- You have not taken steroid medications (corticosteroids) in the last 30 days
- You have not taken anti-inflammatory or painkiller medications in the last 4 days
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and will not become pregnant or breastfeed during the study
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have severe curvature of the spine (such as scoliosis or kyphoscoliosis)
- You have had surgery on your spine, or have lasting effects from a spinal fracture
- You currently have sciatica-like pain (pain spreading from your lower back down your leg)
- You have osteoporosis (weakened, fragile bones)
- You have a neurological or psychiatric condition
- You are currently taking steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, or painkillers
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
