- People who speak French at a near-native level, as the memory and thinking tests are conducted in French.

- People who have moderate depression or high levels of anxiety.
- People who are currently taking psychiatric medications such as benzodiazepines (for example, sleeping pills or anti-anxiety medication) or antidepressants.
- People who regularly or excessively consume alcohol or caffeinated drinks.
- People who use other mind-altering substances known to affect the brain and nervous system.
- People whose vision or hearing is not adequate to complete the assessments without correction, as normal hearing is also required for sound-based parts of the study to work as intended.
- People who experience claustrophobia severe enough to prevent them from undergoing MRI brain scanning.
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
