Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have signed a written agreement confirming you understand and agree to take part in the study.
- You have been diagnosed with a serious heart condition called cardiogenic shock (when the heart suddenly cannot pump enough blood) caused by a heart attack, with very low blood pressure (below 90 mmHg for at least 30 minutes, or needing medication to keep it stable).
- Along with low blood pressure, you are also showing at least one sign that your organs are not getting enough blood, such as confusion, very low urine output, cold or blotchy skin on your limbs, or high levels of a substance called lactate in your blood.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a skin infection in your neck area.
- Doctors are unable to clearly identify the structures in your neck, or you have previously had radiation treatment to your neck area.
- You have a blood clotting problem, shown by certain abnormal blood test results (confirm with trial site).
- You have a serious long-term illness such as advanced cancer, late-stage HIV, have been bedridden for more than 3 months, or have severe liver disease.
- You experienced a cardiac arrest (heart stopping) or a serious heart complication, such as a tear in the heart muscle, before a specific heart monitoring procedure could be carried out.
- You were born with a heart defect or have an abnormal opening between the chambers of your heart.
- You or your legal representative has declined to take part in the study.
