Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People whose blood sugar level is below 80 mg/dL at the time of enrolment
  • People whose systolic (upper number) blood pressure is below 90 mmHg at the time of enrolment
  • People with a known allergy or sensitivity to a class of diabetes medications called SGLT2 inhibitors
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People with a severe heart valve problem that requires a procedure or surgery
  • People with severe liver disease (classified as Child-Pugh class C) (confirm with trial site)
  • People whose kidneys are functioning below a certain level, specifically an estimated filtration rate under 25 mL/min/1.73 m² (confirm with trial site)
