Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 40 years old, of any gender
- People who are generally healthy, with no significant health problems found during a physical examination or based on their own reporting, and who are not taking any medications
- People whose memory and thinking are considered normal, based on a standard cognitive screening test (a score above 28 on the MMSE)
- People who regularly sleep 7 to 9 hours per night and have good sleep quality (based on a standard sleep questionnaire score of 5 or less)
- People who are willing to give written consent and are able to work cooperatively with the research team throughout the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose sleep schedule is reversed, meaning they sleep during the day and are awake at night
- People who have done shift work at any point in the past 6 months
- People who have travelled across time zones or experienced jet lag within the past 3 weeks
- People who currently smoke or use nicotine, or who drink more than five standard alcoholic drinks per week (where one standard drink equals 10 mL or 8 g of pure alcohol)
- People who have consumed strong tea, coffee, or any food or drink containing caffeine within one week before the study begins
- People with a family history of dementia that started at an early age
- People whose scores on standard depression or anxiety questionnaires are above the specified thresholds (a depression scale score of 53 or higher, or an anxiety scale score of 50 or higher)
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who need to drive a vehicle or operate machinery at any point during the study period
