Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 years or older.
  • People who have been formally diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using a recognised set of international medical guidelines (ACR/EULAR 2010 criteria).
  • People whose RA is currently rated as moderate to high in activity, based on a specific disease measurement tool that uses a blood marker called CRP (a score known as DAS-28-CRP, which must be above 3.2).
  • People who have been taking one or more standard (non-biologic) disease-modifying medications for their RA on a stable, unchanged dose for at least the past 3 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People taking any antioxidant supplements or medications.
  • Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.

  • People with significantly reduced liver function (based on a specific blood test result) or significantly reduced kidney function (based on a kidney filtration rate measurement falling below a certain threshold).
