Who might be able to join this trial:
- People of any gender are eligible to participate.
- People who are currently being tested for syphilis for any reason — such as being at risk without symptoms, having symptoms, having had syphilis before, or being considered high risk — or people who have already been diagnosed with syphilis through a test done at an accredited laboratory.
- People who are willing to provide the required blood samples for the study, in addition to any samples their own doctor requests.

- All other participants (excluding pregnant people and those under 22) would need to provide two tubes of blood for the study.

Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking antibiotics, or who have finished a course of antibiotics within the last 30 days.
- People with existing health conditions that could make having blood drawn difficult or potentially harmful.
- Cases where blood samples cannot be collected following the study's strict collection process, as assessed by the study team.
- People whose medical, psychological, or social circumstances — in the opinion of the study investigator — could affect their ability to follow study requirements, put their safety at risk, or affect the reliability of the study results.
