Who may be able to join

  • Women with breast cancer aged 18 or older, whether they have gone through menopause or not.
  • People with a confirmed breast cancer type that is hormone receptor-positive (meaning the cancer is fuelled by hormones) and HER2-negative (a specific protein is not overactive), based on laboratory testing of tissue samples.
  • People confirmed to have invasive breast cancer that, after surgery, was found to be at stage II or III.
  • People who have or have not received chemotherapy before or after surgery are considered.
  • Surgery must have taken place no more than 12 months before joining the trial.
  • People who received radiotherapy must have recovered from the immediate side effects, with at least 14 days passed since the end of radiotherapy before joining.
  • People who received chemotherapy must have recovered from most immediate side effects (rated at a mild level or below), with at least 21 days passed since the last chemotherapy treatment before joining — hair loss and mild nerve-related side effects are exceptions to this recovery requirement.
  • People with a general health and activity level rated as 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale, meaning fully active or able to carry out light activity (confirm with trial site).
  • People whose blood test results meet specific levels for white blood cells, platelets, haemoglobin, liver function markers, kidney function markers, and other blood measures as required by the trial.
  • People whose heart electrical activity, measured by a standard heart tracing (ECG), shows a specific interval reading below a set threshold.
  • People who are willing to take part voluntarily, sign a consent form, follow the trial requirements, and attend follow-up appointments.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People with stage IV breast cancer, or breast cancer that has come back or spread to other parts of the body, or a type called inflammatory breast cancer.
  • People with a history of any other cancer, or who have previously received cancer treatment or radiotherapy for another cancer — with exceptions for certain fully treated cancers such as early cervical, basal cell skin cancer, or squamous cell skin cancer.
  • People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial.
  • People who have received a blood transfusion or certain blood-boosting treatments in the two weeks before joining.
  • People with a known allergy to any of the drugs used in this trial.
  • People with a history of immune system problems, including a positive HIV test, other immune deficiency conditions, or a history of organ transplant.
  • People with a history of heart conditions, including chest pain (angina), irregular heartbeat requiring treatment, heart attack, heart failure, or any other heart condition considered unsuitable by the treating doctor.
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • People with any other condition that the treating doctor considers makes participation unsuitable.
