Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a cancer survivor
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You currently live in Canada
- You speak and understand English or French fluently
- You have been formally diagnosed with insomnia (a sleep condition involving difficulty falling or staying asleep), as defined by current diagnostic guidelines
- Your insomnia symptoms score 8 or higher on a standard insomnia questionnaire called the ISI (confirm with trial site)
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation, as measured by a standard medical scale (confirm with trial site)
- You have access to an internet connection
- You own a smartphone
- You are comfortable using apps on a smartphone
- If you had a non-blood cancer (such as breast or lung cancer), your cancer has been stable or showing no signs of activity for at least 3 months before joining, or you have been on the same treatment plan for at least 3 months (if your cancer has spread)
- If you had a blood cancer (such as leukemia or lymphoma), your cancer is currently in remission and you finished your cancer treatments (such as chemotherapy or radiation) at least 3 months ago
Who may not be able to join:
- You have another sleep disorder besides insomnia (such as sleep apnea) that has not been properly treated
- You have a mental health condition that is currently untreated or that might make it difficult for you to participate (such as bipolar disorder)
- You have a major sensory impairment, such as blindness
- You have previously received a specific type of therapy for insomnia called CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia)
