Who may and may not be able to join

AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who may be able to join

  • People whose memory and thinking abilities score between 16 and 25 points on a standard cognitive test called the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE).
  • People whose spinal fluid (the fluid around the brain and spine) shows specific levels of two proteins linked to Alzheimer's disease: β-Amyloid1-42 at 1030 pg/ml or below, and Tau proteins above certain thresholds (confirm with trial site for exact values).
  • People whose brain MRI scan shows shrinkage in the inner part of the temporal lobe (a region important for memory) in a pattern consistent with Alzheimer's disease.
  • People whose brain PET scans show reduced sugar use in certain brain regions and the presence of amyloid plaques, both in patterns consistent with Alzheimer's disease.

Who may not be able to join

  • People with a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, or a physical condition that would prevent them from taking part in the trial activities or from giving informed consent.

  • People with significant ongoing psychiatric conditions or substance use problems.
