For patients (both parts of the study):
- You are 18 years old or older (there is no maximum age limit)
- You have recently been given your first NHS hearing aid(s) through the NHS, mainly because of hearing loss
- You are willing and able to agree to take part after being given information about the study
- You are not currently taking part in a similar research study
- You have access to any mobile phone (it does not need to be a smartphone) — this applies to the main study only
For clinicians (second part of the study only):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You are willing and able to agree to take part after being given information about the study
Who may not be able to join:
For patients:
- You are already signed up to a text-messaging support service called Florence
- You are not able to read or understand English
For clinicians:
- You do not meet the inclusion criteria listed above
