Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing to take part voluntarily, sign a consent form, and attend follow-up appointments as required.
- People aged 18 or older at the time of signing the consent form, of any gender.
- People who have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (a type of liver cancer) confirmed by medical imaging, tissue sample, or cell sample.
- People whose liver cancer is classified as BCLC Stage B or C (intermediate or advanced stage).
- People who have at least one tumour that can be measured using standard imaging criteria (RECIST 1.1).
- People whose general physical functioning is rated at 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale, meaning they are fully active or have only minor limitations in physical activity.
- People whose liver function is rated as Child-Pugh class A or B, meaning the liver is still functioning at a moderate to reasonable level.
- People with a life expectancy of at least 3 months.
- People with adequate blood count and organ function levels (confirm with trial site for specific values).
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose liver cancer may be treatable with surgery aimed at a complete cure, or who have already had such surgery with no remaining measurable tumour, or who have had or are planned to have a liver transplant.
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People with a known allergy or intolerance to a type of immunotherapy medication called a PD-1/PD-L1 monoclonal antibody.
- People who have received certain local or regional liver treatments within the 4 weeks before starting the trial, including surgery, radiation therapy, or procedures targeting the liver's blood supply or tumour directly.
- People who have had a different type of cancer in the past 5 years, other than the hepatocellular carcinoma being studied.
- People who have serious wounds that have not healed, active ulcers, or fractures that have not been treated.
- People with an active autoimmune disease or a history of autoimmune conditions (conditions where the immune system attacks the body's own tissues).
- People with a significant history of serious gastrointestinal (digestive system) disease (confirm with trial site for specific conditions).
- People with a significant history of serious heart or stroke-related disease (confirm with trial site for specific conditions).
