• People in the traumatic brain injury group must have a history of traumatic brain injury caused by a blast or physical trauma

• People who have psychiatric conditions that are unlikely to be related to trauma, such as schizophrenia
• People who had a serious psychiatric condition before any trauma exposure
• People who have used illicit drugs or misused prescription drugs in the last two months
• People who have metal that cannot be removed in the left ear, certain heart conditions, or an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker, as these may be incompatible with the type of nerve stimulation used in this trial
• People who take medications that affect certain brain chemicals involved in nerve stimulation — specifically norepinephrine, acetylcholine, or serotonin (confirm with trial site)
