Who may be able to join

- People currently using blood-thinning medications such as warfarin, heparin, or a newer anticoagulant (NOAC).
- People who have another serious illness or condition that may cause significant disability, including cancer, certain heart infections, blood disorders, severely reduced kidney function, high potassium levels in the blood, or chronic or severe liver, kidney, or heart disease.
- People with a known history of allergic reaction to a medicine called rhEPO (recombinant human erythropoietin).
- People with a known allergy to any ingredient in the study product.
- People who have nasal irritation such as sneezing or a runny nose before starting treatment.
- People who are having an asthma attack at the start of treatment.
- People taking medications for dementia (AChE inhibitors or Memantine) whose dose has not been stable for at least 12 weeks before the screening visit.
- People taking medications that affect mood, thinking, or behaviour in a way that could interfere with trial results or cognitive testing.
- People with a history of alcoholism or dependence on drugs.
- People with chronic rhinosinusitis (long-term inflammation of the sinuses and nasal passages).
- People with a history of abnormal nasal or sinus symptoms.
- People who have had a skull fracture in the past or have a nasal abnormality such as a deviated septum or nasal defect.
- People who have had a nasal fracture within the last 2 months.
- People who have previously had surgery on the nose or sinuses, including rhinoplasty (nose reshaping surgery).
- People with a known bleeding problem, including low platelet levels (thrombocytopenia) or recurring nosebleeds (more than 3 times per year).
- People with acute (sudden or current) inflammation inside the nose.
- People born with a craniofacial disorder (a condition affecting the structure of the skull or face).
