  • Your surgery took place within the last 4 months
  • You have at least one additional factor that raises the risk of the cancer coming back — such as cancer found in small blood vessels near the tumor, a blood clot caused by the tumor, small satellite tumors nearby, a blood protein called AFP being above 400 ng/mL before surgery, or a tumor larger than 5 cm without a complete outer layer
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old

  • You have had a special liver MRI scan after surgery to confirm no cancer remains in the liver
  • If you have hepatitis B or C, your liver enzyme levels must be within a certain range and you must be receiving antiviral treatment

  • You have no serious heart problems or abnormal heart rhythm readings on an ECG
  • Your kidney function levels from blood tests are within an acceptable range
  • Your blood counts (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets) meet the minimum levels required

  • Your cancer had already spread to other parts of the body before joining the trial
  • You have moderate to severe fluid build-up in your abdomen that does not respond to treatment
