Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (FM) using specific medical guidelines from 2010/2011, updated in 2016
- You are older than 18 years of age
- Your fibromyalgia pain is moderate to severe (scoring more than 4 out of 10 on a pain scale), non-drug treatments have not helped enough, and you have not yet tried the currently recommended medications for fibromyalgia

Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of any psychiatric (mental health) condition
- You have had an allergic reaction to, or have a medical reason not to take, the medications pregabalin or venlafaxine
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a serious ongoing health condition, such as high blood pressure that is not well controlled, diabetes that is not well controlled, significant heart problems, or long-term liver or kidney problems
- You have any other pain condition, whether short-term or long-term, that is separate from your fibromyalgia
