Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 15 years or older who belong to one of the priority groups listed below (following an individual risk assessment by the trial site):
- Female sex workers
- Men who have sex with men
- Transgender individuals
- Women and adolescent girls and young women who are attending sexually transmitted infection services, family planning services, or HIV testing services
- Women who are currently breastfeeding
- Male partners of female sex workers, men assessed as being at high risk of HIV, or men attending services with a confirmed or suspected sexually transmitted infection
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are already living with HIV-1, or who show signs of a possible recent HIV infection
- People who have previously been diagnosed with Hepatitis B
- People who have a known history of serious side effects to the medication Cabotegravir Long Acting
- People who are unable or unwilling to attend required follow-up visits, which include HIV testing every 3 months and counselling and safety check-ins every 2 months
- People currently taking medication for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB)
- People currently taking post-exposure prophylaxis (a short-term medication taken after a possible HIV exposure)
