Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (FM) using the 2016 updated diagnostic criteria for this condition
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People whose FM symptoms are moderate to severe, have not been adequately relieved by non-medication-based treatments, and who have not yet tried the currently recommended medication treatments for FM
- People who rate their pain at 4 or higher out of 10 on a standard pain scale at the start of the trial

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had an allergic reaction to the medications pregabalin or venlafaxine, or to any of their ingredients
- People who have a history of epilepsy, or depression that requires antidepressant medication
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have serious ongoing health conditions, including high blood pressure that is not well controlled, diabetes that is not well controlled, or significant heart problems
- People who have other pain conditions, whether short-term or long-lasting, in addition to fibromyalgia
