Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults aged 18 years or older
• People whose heart is pumping at a rate measured above 40% (known as ejection fraction)
• People with moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease (a kidney function score between 15 and 60 on a standard measurement scale), whether or not they have diabetes, who have been recommended a type of medication called an SGLT2 inhibitor by their doctor
• People with the same level of kidney disease who have not been prescribed an SGLT2 inhibitor medication (for comparison purposes in the trial)

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose kidney function score has fallen below 15, or who are already receiving dialysis treatment
• People who have a heart condition present from birth, severe liver disease (decompensated cirrhosis), are pregnant, or have an active cancer diagnosis
• People who have coronary artery disease, including those with a history of chest pain (angina), a heart attack, or prior heart scans showing significant blockages in the heart's arteries
• People who have certain medical devices in their body, such as metal joint replacements, heart stents, or pacemakers
• People who currently have an active infection anywhere in the body, as this can interfere with test results used in the trial
