Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults over 18 years old, of any sex, who are right-handed and have a resting heart rate between 60 and 100 beats per minute.
• People with a confirmed diagnosis of coronary heart disease (CHD), meaning at least one of the following applies: an abnormal stress test result; a documented heart attack confirmed by heart tracing (ECG) changes and specific blood markers; or a scan showing a blockage of 50% or more in at least one heart artery.
• People who have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder according to current standard psychiatric guidelines (DSM-5).
• People whose anxiety symptoms score at 16 or above on a standard anxiety rating scale (HAMA), and whose depression symptoms score at 17 or below on a standard depression rating scale (HAMD-17).

Who may not be able to join:

• People currently experiencing acute unstable chest pain (unstable angina).
• People with severe heart failure classified as the most advanced stage (NYHA Class IV).
• People with a heart valve condition.
• People with a history of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm condition).
• People with unstable blood pressure, meaning a systolic reading above 180 mmHg or below 90 mmHg.
• People who are pregnant.
• People with a history of certain unstable medical conditions, including stroke-related brain disease, dementia, an overactive thyroid, lung disease, or cancer (confirm with trial site for how these are assessed).
• People considered to be at high risk of suicide or harm to others.
• People with other psychiatric conditions, including psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, or an active substance use disorder.
• People who have taken psychiatric or mood-affecting medications within the one month before enrolling in the trial.
