- You speak French
- You are covered by a French social security (health insurance) scheme
- You are not currently receiving another medical treatment for your hearing, and you do not have an implant or any external ear condition
- You have read and signed a consent form agreeing to take part
- You are available to attend the study appointments
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently in prison or detained by a legal or government order
- You have a serious psychiatric condition
- You are currently living in or admitted to a hospital, care home, or social care facility
- You are not able to give your own consent to take part
- You are under legal guardianship or trusteeship
- You have severe ringing in the ears (tinnitus) that significantly affects your daily life, above a certain severity score (confirm with trial site)
- You are already considered a candidate for a cochlear implant (a surgically fitted hearing device)
- The trial doctor does not feel you are suitable to participate for any reason
- You have an active or long-term ear infection, or a condition present from birth affecting the structure of the ear canal
- You have hearing loss that changes frequently or is unstable
- You have ongoing headaches, dizziness, ear pain, or other symptoms that make fitting a hearing aid unsuitable
- Your hearing loss started suddenly within the last 3 months, is getting worse quickly, affects only one ear, or is linked to another active ear condition
- You have fluid, discharge, or frequent pus coming from your ear
- Your hearing loss is caused by a problem in the brain or nervous system, or has no physical cause
- You have a severe outer ear infection or inflammation of the eardrum (confirm with trial site)
- You are allergic to any of the materials used in the hearing device being tested
