Who may be able to join
- People with breast cancer who had a delayed breast reconstruction procedure (using an implant, performed through small incisions using a camera) after a simple mastectomy, at one of the participating centres between July 2024 and August 2025, where the reconstruction was done at least 6 months after the original mastectomy.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose skin in the affected area has poor elasticity (confirm with trial site)
- People whose cancer has been reassessed — using clinical examination, imaging, or tissue testing — and found to have come back in the local or nearby area, or to have spread to other parts of the body in a way that is not controlled
- People who previously had a radical mastectomy (a more extensive surgery that removes additional tissue beyond the breast)
- People who declined to provide follow-up information after their surgery
