Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who are currently hospitalised for a specific type of heart attack (called a "Type 1 MI"), as defined by established medical guidelines

- People whose elevated heart enzyme results (blood markers used to detect heart damage) are believed by the study doctor to be caused by something other than reduced blood flow to the heart — for example, heart muscle inflammation or a stress-related heart condition
- People with confirmed or suspected tearing of a coronary artery wall (a condition called spontaneous coronary artery dissection)
- People who already need to take long-term blood-thinning medication (oral anticoagulants) for another reason
- People who already need to take two blood-thinning antiplatelet medications for a reason unrelated to their coronary arteries
- People who need to continue taking a blood-thinning antiplatelet drug that is not part of this trial, based on their treating doctor's judgement
- People who have been hospitalised for a heart attack, or who have had a heart artery procedure or bypass surgery, within the past 12 months
- People with a known allergy, intolerance, or medical reason not to take either aspirin or ticagrelor (the medications being studied in this trial)
- People considered unsuitable for either of the trial's treatment options, based on their treating doctor's judgement
