Who might be able to join this trial:
This trial has three different groups — you may qualify for one of them:
- Knee pain group: You have had knee pain rated at 4 or higher out of 10 on most days over the past 3 months (where 0 means no pain and 10 is the worst pain imaginable).
- Fibromyalgia group: You have been told by a doctor that you have fibromyalgia, and you have pain rated at 4 or higher out of 10 on most days over the past 3 months.
- Control group (no pain): You are currently pain-free and have not been diagnosed with osteoarthritis.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 35 (a measure of body weight relative to height — confirm with trial site if unsure).
- Your body weight is 250kg or more.
- You are pregnant (applies to women).
- You are not able to give your own consent to take part in the study.
- You are not able to complete the physical assessments required by the study (confirm with trial site).
- You have done intense or strenuous exercise in the 24 hours before your testing appointment.
- You have consumed alcohol on the day of your testing appointment.
- You have consumed caffeine on the day of your testing appointment.
