Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who experience mild to moderate hearing difficulties, shown by answering "yes" to at least one of these: trouble hearing speech in noisy places, difficulty following conversations in groups, trouble hearing on the phone, feeling tired from listening, or needing to turn the TV or radio up loud enough that others complain
- People who wear corrective glasses for everyday use
- People with the cognitive ability to understand and follow study instructions
- People whose main language for social interactions is Hebrew
- People willing to use the study device as instructed throughout the trial period
- People who are able to use a smartphone
Who may not be able to join:
- People with hearing loss greater than 55 dB HL (a measure of hearing loss severity — confirm with trial site if unsure)
- People who have used hearing aids at any point in the last 12 months
- People with a medical history of cognitive or neurological conditions
- People with an active inflammatory condition affecting the ear
- People with significantly different hearing levels between their two ears (more than 15 dB difference, based on a recent hearing test)
- People who took part in stage 1 of this study
- People with a birth defect affecting the ear, or a deformed or injured ear
- People who have had discharge of blood, pus, or fluid from the ear in the past 6 months
- People with earwax that may interfere with a specific study test (confirm with trial site)
- People who experienced sudden hearing loss in the past 6 months
- People who wear an electromagnetic medical device (such as a pacemaker — confirm with trial site)
- People with other medical conditions or medications that, in the opinion of the lead study doctor, could affect safety or data collection
