- People who are medically stable and are scheduled for a high-risk heart procedure (not an emergency) where the medical team has decided that extra heart support during the procedure is needed.

Who may not be able to join:
- People whose heart is in a state of severe failure or shock, or who have a serious sudden worsening of a long-term heart condition.

- People whose blood vessels in the aorta or lower body (groin/hip area) make it unsafe to place the devices being studied.

- People who have an active infection, or an infection at the area where the procedure would be performed.
- People with a known allergy to contrast dye used in imaging that cannot be managed with medication beforehand, or a known allergy to heparin, aspirin, certain blood-thinning medications, or a metal called nitinol.
- People who have a condition, a blood clotting disorder, a planned procedure, or another reason that means blood-thinning medications would need to be stopped within 90 days after the heart procedure.
- People who are currently breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning to become pregnant within 90 days of the heart procedure.
- People who are currently in the active follow-up stage of another clinical trial involving an investigational drug or device, or who plan to join such a study within 90 days of the heart procedure.
- People who have other medical, social, or psychological issues that, in the opinion of the research team, would make it difficult to consent or follow the study requirements.
- People the research team considers to be part of a vulnerable population.
