Group 1 – People with a depressive disorder:
- People who have been diagnosed with a depressive disorder according to a standard international classification system called ICD-11
- People aged between 18 and 60 years old
- People who are able to use a computer or smartphone

- People whose psychiatric symptoms are severe enough to require hospital admission, or who are unable to complete the assessments and treatment involved in the trial
- People who are considered to be at high risk of suicide or self-harm
- People who have a serious physical illness, a disease affecting the brain or nervous system, or a history of substance misuse
- People who have intellectual disabilities, or vision or hearing difficulties that would affect their ability to use the computer-assisted diagnostic tools in the trial
Group 2 – Healthy volunteers (control group):
- People who have a mental illness, or who are unable to complete the required assessments and treatment
- People who have a serious physical illness, a disease affecting the brain or nervous system, or a history of substance misuse
- People who have intellectual disabilities, or vision or hearing difficulties that would affect their ability to use the computer-assisted diagnostic tools in the trial
