- People who have a diagnosed mental health disorder

- People who do shift work or have irregular working hours that interfere with their normal sleep-wake cycle
- People who have used any medications that affect brain or nervous system function within the past month
- People who have engaged in sleep-disrupting behaviours in the past two weeks, such as staying up late, drinking alcohol, or smoking
- People who have abnormalities found on a brain MRI scan, or for whom an MRI scan would not be safe to perform
