- You have chronic rhinosinusitis (long-term sinus inflammation) that did not get better with medical treatment
- You are having a first-time surgical procedure on both sides of your sinuses using a technique called functional endoscopic sinus surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of problems with your immune system not working properly
- You have had sinus surgery before
- You have taken antibiotics within one week before your sinus surgery
- Your sinus condition has been diagnosed as a fungal (mold/yeast-related) infection of the sinuses
- You have been diagnosed with a tumor in your nose or sinuses
