Who may be able to join

  • People aged 18 years or older.
  • People who have had breast cancer surgery where at least one lymph node was removed.
  • People who have been diagnosed with stable lymphedema (fluid build-up causing swelling) in one arm, related to breast cancer treatment.

  • People whose lymphedema is currently unstable — meaning they are receiving hands-on treatment from a therapist and have had more than one arm infection requiring antibiotics in the past 3 months.
  • People who are currently receiving radiotherapy or chemotherapy given by infusion for breast cancer.
  • People who have lymphedema affecting both arms.
  • People whose lymphedema is not related to cancer treatment (known as primary lymphedema).
  • People with uncontrolled heart disease, such as uncontrolled coronary heart disease, heart failure, or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • People with Type II diabetes.
  • People with certain psychological or neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or Parkinson's disease.
  • People with significant physical disabilities.
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • People with kidney disease.
