Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • Women whose cesarean birth becomes an emergency or whose surgery changes unexpectedly to an emergency procedure
  • Women with a high-risk pregnancy or serious pregnancy- or health-related complications that require intensive medical management (for example, severe preeclampsia, major bleeding risk, or unstable serious illness)
  • People with a known psychiatric condition, or who are currently taking medications that may significantly affect how anxiety is measured, as determined by the clinical team
  • People who have communication difficulties that would prevent them from taking part, such as severe vision or hearing impairment or cognitive difficulties, or who are unable to complete the questionnaires
  • People who do not have access to a smartphone, or who are unwilling or unable to use QR code materials (which are needed for the intervention to be delivered)
  • People who do not wish to take part, or who choose to withdraw their consent at any point
