Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis based on the officially recognised international classification criteria (revised ACR/EULAR criteria)
- People of Pakistani origin
- People between the ages of 20 and 75 years old
- People who have recently been started on the medication Leflunomide, or who have been taking it for less than one month, and who have relevant health test results and clinical information available from the start of treatment
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not wish to take part or who have not given their consent to participate
- People under the age of 20
- People who are not of Pakistani origin
- People who are currently taking another disease-modifying medication (DMARD) at the same time as Leflunomide
- People who have reduced kidney or liver function
- People who have a cognitive impairment or a neurological condition
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome
- People who have an active infection at the time of joining
- People who do not complete three months of Leflunomide treatment during the trial
