Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Dysfunction Syndrome (MPDS), a condition involving muscle pain and tension in the jaw and surrounding areas.
- You have painful, sensitive "knots" in muscles such as the jaw, temple, or upper shoulder that a doctor can locate and access.
- Your pain has been ongoing for at least 3 months.
- Your pain level is 4 or higher on a 10-point pain scale.
- You have not had any trigger point injections in the affected area in the last 3 months.
- You are able and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
- You are able to attend all required study appointments and follow the study procedures.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a known allergy to Lidocaine, Magnesium Sulfate, or similar medicines.
- You are currently taking blood-thinning medication or have a condition that affects your blood's ability to clot.
- You have an active infection at or near the area where injections would be given.
- You have a history of fibromyalgia, widespread nerve-related pain conditions, or pain caused by cancer.
- You have a serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or severe depression.
- You have had surgery or a significant injury to your head, neck, or upper back within the last 6 months.
- You have taken pain-relief medicines such as anti-inflammatories or opioids within the 5 days before the treatment.
- You have a serious ongoing health condition, such as uncontrolled diabetes, liver or kidney failure, or a severe heart condition.
