Who may be able to join

  • People who have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early dementia, or who have noticeable memory changes shown on a standard memory test called the MoCA (even if not yet formally diagnosed).
  • People whose score on the MoCA memory test falls between 10 and 28 (inclusive).
  • People aged between 50 and 90 years (inclusive).

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People whose mild cognitive impairment or dementia is thought to be caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease, such as Parkinson's disease, Lewy body disease, frontotemporal degeneration, stroke-related causes, head injury, or alcohol or drug use, among others.
  • People who have a neurological, psychiatric, or medical condition that carries a long-term risk of significant cognitive decline, including (but not limited to) pre-manifest Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Down syndrome, active alcohol or drug abuse, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, or a current episode of major depression.
  • People who currently have, or have had within the past two years, a psychiatric diagnosis or symptoms — such as hallucinations, major depression, or delusions — that the trial investigator believes could interfere with study procedures.
  • Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
  • People who are unable to complete the study assessments in English.
  • People who are not able to provide their own consent to participate.
