Who may be able to join
- People who were 50 years of age or older at the time their brain scans were taken.
- People who had a specific type of brain scan called an amyloid PET (using a tracer called Florbetaben or Flutemetamol) performed for a clinical reason between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.
- People who also have a structural brain MRI scan and a separate brain scan called an FDG PET, both taken within 6 months (before or after) of the amyloid PET scan.
- People whose three brain scans (amyloid PET, FDG PET, and MRI) are all of good enough technical quality to be used together for detailed analysis.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have another significant brain or neurological condition (such as Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia, a brain tumour, or a recent stroke) that could affect the results of the FDG PET scan.
- People whose scans have significant movement blur or technical problems that make it impossible to accurately combine or analyse the images.
- People whose scan data files are incomplete or permanently damaged in a way that prevents them from being properly prepared for analysis.
