Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older who have been diagnosed with bruxism (teeth grinding or clenching during sleep and/or while awake), based on a clinical assessment and their own reported symptoms.
- People for whom a dentist has determined that a mouth guard (occlusal splint) is appropriate, and who are willing to wear it during sleep for 3 months.
- People who are able to give written consent to participate and attend the required follow-up appointments.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently using, or have used, a mouth guard (occlusal splint) within the last 6 months.
- People who are currently undergoing orthodontic treatment (such as braces), or who have major dental work planned during the study that could affect how their teeth fit together.
- People who have a severe jaw joint condition (such as significant pain or difficulty opening the mouth) that requires active treatment, or any other condition that may make wearing a mouth guard unsuitable.
- People who have serious untreated dental problems that need immediate attention, such as advanced gum disease or multiple untreated cavities.
- People who have certain medical or neurological conditions, or who take medications, that may significantly affect teeth grinding or muscle function — as determined by the trial investigator (confirm with trial site).
