Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 80 years, of any gender
  • People who have been diagnosed with liver cancer (either starting in the liver or spreading to the liver from elsewhere), confirmed by tissue testing or clinical assessment
  • People who have at least one liver tumour that can be measured on imaging scans, where the largest tumour measures between 3 and 5 centimetres across
  • People who are unable to tolerate surgery or who have chosen not to have surgery
  • People who are reasonably well and able to carry out basic daily activities (based on a standard health scoring system), with a life expectancy of more than 3 months

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with severely reduced liver function that cannot be improved with liver-protecting treatments (confirm with trial site)
  • People with a very large or widely spread form of liver cancer throughout the liver
  • People whose cancer has grown into nearby blood vessels or spread into surrounding organs
  • People who have had a bleeding episode from enlarged veins in the oesophagus or stomach within the past month
  • People with serious blood clotting problems or significant blood abnormalities that cannot be corrected, where there is a high risk of major bleeding
  • People with large amounts of fluid in the abdomen that does not respond to treatment, or with severe muscle and weight loss
  • People with an active infection, particularly involving the bile ducts or biliary system
  • People with serious loss of function in major organs such as the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, or brain
  • People who are not fully conscious or who are unable to cooperate with the treatment process
  • People who have received systemic treatments such as chemotherapy within the past 2 weeks and have not yet recovered from the side effects of those treatments (confirm with trial site)
  • People who, in the opinion of the trial doctors, have any other reason that makes participation unsuitable or that may affect their involvement in the study
