- People who are admitted to the Medicine, Surgery, or Neurology Intensive Care Unit (ICU) wards at Al-Basrah Teaching Hospital or Al-Fayhaa General Hospital.

- People who are expected to be discharged or moved to another facility within 48 hours of being admitted.
- People whose primary diagnosis is a psychiatric condition that may affect the ability to carry out nutrition assessments, unless a guardian is present.
