Who may be able to join

  • Adults aged 18 to 85 years
  • People who are scheduled for planned (non-emergency) heart surgery, such as bypass surgery or heart valve repair or replacement
  • People whose heart condition is classified as mild to moderate in terms of how it affects daily life (heart function class I–III)

  • People who have skin sores, infection, or physical abnormalities around both ears, a history of ear surgery or nerve damage near the ears, or a known allergy to electrode materials
  • People with severe heart rhythm problems, or who have an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator
  • People who have taken part in another interventional clinical trial within the past 3 months
  • People considered unsuitable by the trial investigators for other reasons (confirm with trial site)
